Good morning. It was a pleasure to host the Worldwide Universities Network Conference and AGM from 21-25 May.

We were joined by our international colleagues to discuss the current issues impacting our sector; the discussions and workshops were very rewarding and I would like to thank everyone involved in making the conference a success.

Last week I was pleased to attend the Business School’s annual awards. The School has a long history of academic excellence and this year more than 100 prizes, awards and scholarships were awarded to the students. Congratulations!

On Friday evening, I attended the Centenary Trust for Women (CTW) celebration. The Trust supports women facing financial difficulties while studying at UWA by providing them with scholarships and grants. To date the supporters and volunteers of CTW have raised $2.2 million – an extraordinary effort!

Finally, thank you to the many staff, students and alumni who have shown support and interest in the UWA Public Policy Institute since its launch last week.
