The University Engineers Club (UEC) have recently celebrated their 100th Anniversary at their Annual Engineers’ Ball.

The UWA Student Organisation marked the momentous occasion at Crown Towers on Saturday 5 May. Over 650 current students, alumni and academics attended.

Mike Fitzpatrick, 1975 UWA engineering alumni, was the guest speaker on the night. He provided a thought-provoking look at the past, present and future of Engineering.

UEC is The University of Western Australia’s oldest Faculty society, with the largest and most diverse membership.

John Dell, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, said “The University is proud of all the achievements UEC have accomplished over the past 100 years.”

“UEC have made a big impact on the culture of engineering at UWA. From their weekly Friday BBQs, student competitions, and industry-led workshops, to annual balls,” said John Dell.

Clubs and societies provide a stand-out student experience at UWA, and allows students to be part of an enriching cohort – as well as gain access to development and social opportunities, to prepare them for their future endeavours.

Congratulations UEC on celebrating 100 years!
