This semester, the Guild is launching a class representative system to provide high-quality and direct feedback to unit coordinators.

At the moment, students’ feedback comes to staff through SURF and SPOT surveys, via the Guild and faculties’ student societies. The class representative system will make it easier for students to provide feedback to unit coordinators while units are being taught throughout the semester.

Student representatives work closely with the unit coordinators by providing helpful and constructive input aimed at improving units and students’ experience in learning.

There are 20 units being piloted at the moment, and student feedback and data will be gathered during this semester to inform the effectiveness of the program. Similar programs introduced by student organisations at international universities such as Victoria University of Wellington, University of Otago and the University of Leeds have so far proven beneficial to students.

If you’d like to receive more information on the class representative system and how it can benefit your unit, please contact Conrad Hogg, Education Council President at [email protected]
