Staff and students from our Conservatorium of Music have been working alongside community choirs and musicians as they rehearse for a once-in-a-lifetime community event to raise awareness of homelessness in Western Australia.

On Friday 13 April, over 1,000 singers and musicians will converge on the streets of Perth when our Conservatorium of Music, WASO Chorus, the Spirits of the Streets Choir, and school and community ensembles, present a large-scale community event called ‘ Love Never Failed Us Ye t’. The event will feature a performance of a 1971 composition by Gavin Bryars, which loops audio of an unknown homeless man singing a hymn.

Held in the Perth CBD this unique and moving event is the public launch of the #EndHomelessnessWA campaign, and invites the community to join the Centre for Social Impact and the WA Alliance to End Homelessness.

Everyone is welcome to come along and experience this incredibly powerful and poignant piece to raise awareness about the #EndHomelessnessWA campaign, and to support our staff and students in this unique community event.
