Author of the beloved children’s series, Swallows and Amazons, Arthur Ransome was a colourful figure in the literary world and beyond. Swallows and Amazons continues to hold a place in the heart of many children and adults around the world.
Bill Warnock, a Perth author, playwright and UWA affiliate, was a long-time admirer of Ransome and collector of his works. In the early 2000’s, prior to his passing, Warnock generously donated The Ransome collection to the Special Collections UWA Library.
