Water Polo Australia has announced the squad for the Australia versus USA international test match series and following training camp to take place at the end of March.

The squad features three UWA players, as well as Christian Kyriakou ,who previously played for UWA before his switch to Sydney.

Brothers George and Andrew Ford (UWA student) join Tim Putt in the squad, having made an impact in the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest.

Aussie Sharks head coach Elvis Fatovic says his squad is a good mix of youth and experience.

“The squad is a good make up of some new players and experienced players who were part of the World Championships last year.

“This Sunshine Coast test match series offers us an excellent opportunity to spend time together as a squad training in some of the country’s best facilities a week before New Zealand.”

The recognition for the three UWA Torpedoes players comes despite a mixed Australian Water Polo League season for the team, which sees them currently sitting at eight on the ladder, with a win percentage of 22.92.

The young Torpedoes have had some close battles with more experienced teams, and will be looking to build for a stronger season in 2019.
