Approximately five bays in Car Park 43 will be closed from 12 February until 16 February, and again from 26 February until 2 March.
In addition, isolated excavation works along Gillett Promenade (between the Irwin Street Building and General Purpose Building 3) will take place during the same time periods.
The expected impact on 12-16 February and 26 February – 2 March includes:
- Noise from cutting tools, likely to impact on the Irwin Street Building, Mathematics building, Civil and Mechanical Engineering building, CO2 Research Facility, Myers Street building, General Purpose Building 3 and Sanders Building
- Partial closure of Gillett Promenade to pedestrians. Minor pedestrian detours will be put in place and clearly marked.
- No pedestrians and vehicle access onto Gillett Promenade from service road (between the Central Chilled Water Plant and Car Park 43) from 26 February until 2 March
These disruptions are necessary to facilitate the upgrade of the University’s HV cables.
