The latest cohort of Fairway UWA Year 12 students were presented their certificates of completion at an inspirational ceremony which saw many of the students reflect on the experiences they’ve had as part of the program.

Students were joined by family, friends and faculty staff, as well as special guest speaker and Fairway UWA donor Dr Ken Michael AC CitWA, who presented students with their certificates.

Fairway UWA is an innovative education program working with Year 12 students who face challenging circumstances in achieving their academic potential and goal of a university education.

Fairway UWA offers comprehensive academic, financial and social support throughout their final year of secondary school and receives additional funding from the UWA graduates through the Alumni Fund.

Since commencing in 2012, Fairway UWA has supported more than 600 students. The program is managed by Dr Umneea Khan who received the 2017 UWA Innovation and Teaching Award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning’ as well as the Central Program Award for ‘widening participation in higher education’ for Fairway UWA.

Each year Fairway students produce a short video highlighting activities of the program throughout the year. You can watch the video here .
