This year the University closedown period is from 12 noon Friday, 22 December 2017, with the University re-opening on Thursday, 4 January 2018.

As per usual practice, on Friday 22 December 2017, all areas are required to remain open and public counters staffed until 12 noon. Clear signage should be placed on counters indicating the dates the University is closed for business. After 12 noon all staff may proceed on leave.  Staff planning to take leave on 22 December will need to submit an application for a full day’s leave.

The periods leading into and following the Christmas closedown present a great opportunity for everyone to take annual and long service leave and this can be booked through ESS.

For safety reasons and in the interest of the environment, please shut down PCs and turn off lighting and unnecessary equipment over the closedown period.
