Micah Kickett graduated from Arts/Law in March this year and is now working in a graduate position with the Department of Attorney General and Justice in Darwin. Recently Micah competed and won the Northern Territory Golden Gavel competition with a presentation on ‘Ten tips to succeed in the law without really trying’. This led to him being the NT representative in the 2017 National Golden Gavel Competition Final which took place in Sydney on October 20.  This event featured the Golden Gavel finalists from each state, battling it out for the national title.  The competition experience is described as the ‘Eurovision of the legal profession.’ Micah’s talk on ‘How to speak conversational legalese in one easy lesson’ ended up in true Micah fashion with rap and Micah winning the National award.
