James is a PhD student working with UWA's Power and Clean Energy Research Group (PACE). His project is titled 'Stand-alone Distributed Generation for Rural Areas (SDGRA)'. Through this research James has created a computational tool to identify rural customers that are optimally supplied electricity via distributed generation, to assist electrical network utilities during a transformative industry period. He reports 'the tool utilises artificial intelligence techniques, pathing algorithms and power models, and incorporates numerous databases to produce both numerical and visual results'.
