Good morning. You will be aware that the Australian community is currently participating in the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey. I strongly encourage all in the UWA community and your family and friends to participate and exercise your right to vote.

I recognise and respect that this is a personal issue and believe that as a university we have a unique and critical role to play as a forum for respectful consideration of all views. UWA as an employer has long been committed to equal treatment of all and has been a pioneer in advocating for equal rights for the LGBTIQA+ community. Our position has been recognised by Pride in Diversity as a Platinum LGBTIQA+ employer, and indeed the recent Your Say survey results acknowledge that embracing diversity is one of the most valued aspects of the University.
