Fifteen year old Shuan Hern Lee has once again made the AMEB proud, this time winning

first prize in the Palmadoro International Piano Competition for Age 35 and Under, in Finale Ligure, Italy.  He was also awarded the gold medal for the youngest finalist in this competition, where he competed against other concert pianists and professional musicians from Poland, Italy, Russia and Japan, all aged in their 20s and 30s.

In the first round, 12 competitors played two rounds of music, consisting of 30 minutes of repertoire.  From there, finalists were eliminated until six were selected to compete in the final round of 60 minutes of repertoire.  Shuan Hern emerged as the winner of the first prize, receiving 4500 Euros, while two other competitors tied for 2nd place.

With this award comes the opportunity for Shuan Hern to perform two solo recital concerts next year in Italy and Germany.
