Four UWA professors have been elected Fellows of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia (ASSA). Fellows are elected to the Academy by their peers on the basis of a distinguished contribution to one or more of the social sciences.

Congratulations to:

  • Professor Michael Blakeney (Winthrop Professor, Faculty of Law)
  • Emeritus Professor Victoria Burbank (Senior Honorary Research Fellow, School of Social Sciences)
  • Professor Cristina Gibson (Professor, Management and Organisations, UWA Business School)
  • Professor Stephen Zubrick (Winthrop Professor, Graduate School of Education and Senior Principal Research Fellow, Telethon Institute for Child Health Research)

These fellowships are a significant achievement and a testament to the world-class quality of their research.
