The University of Western Australia opened its doors on 13 August to eager prospective students, families and friends for its annual Open Day , the University’s the largest community engagement and recruitment event.

Tens of thousands of people visited the buzzing campus to explore the grounds, hear about the University’s world-class education, talk to current staff and students, and take part in the numerous interactive activities and displays.

Winthrop Hall was the central hub for the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences with attendees trying their hand at suturing, undertaking medical examinations, using augmented reality dentistry equipment and speaking with current staff and students about their potential fields of study.

Dr Jan Dunphy, Head of the Service Delivery Centre for the Faculty said the event was a great success.

“Open Day provides a fantastic opportunity for future students to experience what it would be like studying at UWA; a university that is consistently ranked within the top 100 universities in the world.”

“To engage and inspire potential students and their influences on the limitless opportunities available with a UWA degree and to help prepare them for their future is very satisfying.”
