Three high profile WA business leaders have been appointed to the UWA Business School Board.
The changes will see:
- Shell Australia Chairman Zoe Yujnovich replace former Shell Australia Chairman Andrew Smith
- Wesfarmers Deputy CEO and incoming Managing Director Rob Scott replace current Wesfarmers Managing Director Richard Goyder
- CEO-elect of CBH Group Jimmy Wilson re-join the School’s Board
Chairman of the UWA Business School Board, Mark Barnaba, said the new Board members would bring a wealth of experience from across varied industries.
“The UWA Business School is focused on delivering teaching and research that impacts positively on the local and global community,” Mr Barnaba said.
“Zoe, Rob and Jimmy, with their outstanding records of business leadership, will be a valuable addition to the UWA Business School Board.”
UWA Vice Chancellor Professor Dawn Freshwater said the new appointments would offer a fresh perspective, helping the School to continue to meet its strategic objectives and set new challenges for the future.
“The UWA Business School is committed to preparing graduates for a global career where business has positive social, economic and environmental outcomes,” Professor Freshwater said.
“Our new Board members are at the forefront of their respective industries, and will ensure we continue to offer a contemporary and practical education based on sound evidence and focused on preparing the next generation of national and global leaders.”
Yujnovich joined Shell in 2014, bringing with her over twenty years’ experience in the mining industry. She began her career in Australia working in a number of frontline mining roles and then broadened her experience internationally working in the USA, UK, Brazil and Canada.
Scott was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Wesfarmers in February 2017, coinciding with the announcement he would be the Group’s next Managing Director from mid-November. He was Managing Director of the Wesfarmers Industrials division until 1 July 2017.
Wilson commenced with CBH Group in August 2017 as Chief Executive Officer-elect and will formally take over the role of Chief Executive Officer on 1 October 2017. He was previously President of BHP Billiton Iron Ore.
