Be advised Campus Management will schedule a power shutdown in Hackett Hall from Friday 30 June to Sunday 2 July.

  • between Friday  30 June 06.00am -18.00pm on Sunday 2 July in the Hackett Hall café/kitchen only
  • on Saturday 1 July all of Hackett Hall’s power and lighting in the kitchen/café and offices will be affected from 06.00am to 08.00am.

We expect to have power restored by about 18.00pm on Sunday 2 July.

Power down your equipment
To minimise the risk of data loss and equipment damage, staff are advised to switch off computers and other equipment prior to the scheduled power shutdown.

Purpose for shutdown
The shutdown is required to upgrade the Hackett Hall Distribution board.

Building access and services
A generator will be used to back up the supplies to the kitchen fridge and freezers and BMS control systems. We have been working with Irene Conway from the Guild and Grant McIntyre Building Operations.

As part of the Hackett Hall kitchen switchboard replacement we will also be replacing the main supply cable to this switchboard board hence the two hour shutdown on Saturday.

During this 2 hour period the Electrical Contractor will be supplying temporary power to the communication rooms, Cardex system (access control) and the fire alarm panel.

Campus Management has worked with Hackett Hall café/kitchen to determine the timing and schedule of work, and to minimise impact on staff and students as much as possible.
