Every year 10 million people around the world die needlessly because of high blood pressure. During May Measurement Month (MMM) millions of people across the globe will have their blood pressure measured in one of the world’s biggest public screening exercises.

There will be blood pressure measuring booths set up on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting 9 May from 12pm – 2pm at Oak Lawn and the Reid Library. Booths will also be set up daily Royal Perth Hospital from 11am – 2pm and Fiona Stanley Hospital from 11.30am – 3pm. No appointments necessary, just show up.

The MMM team are looking for volunteers to measure blood pressure at the booth. Anyone with a medical background is encouraged to volunteer their time - let your students know too as this would be a great opportunity for them to work on their skills.

To register your interest in volunteering and for further details, email Derrin Brockman or call (08) 9224 0209.
