The University of Western Australia has today joined higher education institutions and colleagues from across the world to express concern about the impact of the new US executive order on the free exchange of students, academics and researchers between Australia and the United States of America.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Freshwater said UWA supports the position taken by our national higher education peak bodies, the Group of Eight (Go8) and Universities Australia.

“We are proud to be a top 100 global university working with leading academics and institutions from around the world in an effort to solve some of society’s biggest challenges.  It would be unfortunate and regrettable if the change in United States immigration policy were to impede our efforts," Professor Freshwater said.
