Dear Colleagues

As December approaches, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, on behalf of the UWA Executive, for your ongoing hard work, dedication and support during what has been a very busy year.

I would like to remind you that the University closedown period is from 12 noon Friday, 23 December 2016, with the University re-opening Thursday 5 January 2017.

As per usual practices, on Friday 23 December 2016, all areas are required to remain open and public counters staffed until 12 noon. Clear signage should be placed on counters indicating the dates the University is closed for business. After 12 noon all staff may proceed on leave.  Those staff planning to take leave on 23 December will need to submit an application for a full day’s leave.

The periods leading into and following the Christmas closedown present a great opportunity for everyone to take annual and long service leave and I strongly encourage staff to enjoy some leave during these periods.  Annual leave can be booked through ESS and long service leave requested through the staff leave application form.

For safety reasons and in the interest of the environment, please shut down PCs and turn off lighting and unnecessary equipment over the closedown period.

Wishing you and your families a peaceful and relaxing break.

Regards

Sandra Ventre

Director Human Resources
