The RAC WA Sports Star Awards enable the Western Australian community to recognise excellence in sport and celebrate the achievements of WA sportspeople.
The most prestigious sporting Award that a West Australian athlete can win is The West Australian RAC Sports Star Award. Many of Western Australia’s outstanding sportspeople have won this Award since it was first presented to Morna Pearce in 1956.
This year, we are excited to announce that the UWA Torpedos have been nominated for Sports Team of the year 2016. The nomination comes off the back of an outstanding season, which saw The UWA Torpedoes captured their maiden National Water Polo League crown, defeating the home side Victorian Seals 13 - 11 in a dramatic penalty shootout.
It’s the teams first ever National Water polo league title since joining the competition twelve years ago.
