After a review of Concur use with the Risk & Legal Team and UWA’s Insurance Broker AJG, it was found that clarification is required around travel insurance.

The below mandatory questions will be removed effective immediately. These are about:

  • having a pre-existing medical condition and
  • being aged 80 years or over at the time of travel

The Terms of Use of Concur that appear when you log-in will also be amended to include the following clarification about insurance cover:

Travel Insurance information

A corporate travel insurance policy is in place with AIG Australia Limited. It provides cover for all UWA travellers on authorised university business travel. Further information can be obtained from UWA Insurance .

PLEASE NOTE the following two restrictions of cover:

Health Issues UWA’s Corporate Travel Insurance policy has restrictions around medical conditions and will not respond for medical or medical evacuation expenses incurred if you are:

  • travelling against medical advice or when you are unfit to do so
  • travelling to seek medical attention
  • travelling with a terminal condition which was diagnosed prior to departure
  • seeking continued treatment whilst travelling, including medication commenced prior to departure which you have been advised to continue taking

Age Limits UWA’s Corporate Travel policy provides cover for authorised travellers under 80 years of age. Limited cover is provided to authorised travellers 80 to 101 years of age. If you are over 80 years of age please email [email protected] before travelling to obtain confirmation of insurance cover.
