We are delighted to announce that a major refurbishment project to revitalise the Medical and Dental Library will commence in early 2017.

The planned refurbishments will ensure that the UWA Medical and Dental Library remains a high quality facility for student learning, with the technology and facilities to meet the needs of the UWA community. On completion (expected around mid-2017), the Library will offer exciting new learning and study spaces for students, an Alumni Lounge , upgraded facilities and technology including access to wifi and power .

Located on the QE11 Medical Campus (and adjacent to the Harry Perkins Institute and to the new Children’s Hospital), the UWA Medical and Dental Library provides services to staff and students in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, students from the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia (OHCWA), UWA students and staff from other faculties, and medical staff at the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and other research institutes .

In preparation for the refurbishment, temporary relocation of library collections to the Barry J Marshall Library will begin next week (Monday 31st October). Medical and Dental Library collections will remain findable through OneSearch and staff are available to assist with any queries or help required.

The plans for this project are innovative and reflect our aim to provide a world-class student experience. There will be some unavoidable disruptions to services and Library spaces during this exciting new project.   We thank our users for their support and patience during this period.

Further information about the project will be communicated by Campus Management and by the Library on our website , and on Facebook and Twitter .
