TEDxPerth is an independently organised TED event that aims to be a beacon for all that is remarkable, challenging and thought-provoking in Perth. It is a time to both celebrate and raise the intellectual ambition and culture of WA.

TEDxPerth 2016 is on Saturday 15 October and UWA is represented among the 13 speakers.

Adrian Peterson

Adrian is CEO of Veri-Vote, a BloomLab at St. Catherine’s start-up that’s using the technology underpinning Bitcoin to create secure, trustworthy, online voting.

Michael Sheldrick

Michael is a UWA Law graduate now based in New York coordinating Global Citizen’s advocacy campaigns. Michael will talk about making clicktivism an effective tool for change.

Steve Wilton

Steve started his research into a therapy for Muscular Dystrophy at UWA and last month his therapy received FDA approval. His development represents a seismic shift in the potential for developing treatments for thousands of genetic conditions, such as cystic fibrosis, alzheimers and motor neurone disease.

Tickets are still available for a day of inspirational, stimulating and original ideas from over a dozen of WA's most original thinkers and doers. The event will also be livestreamed.
