Day Four was a huge day down at Team UWA headquarters. The FanZone was bathed in sunshine in what was a great morning of play!

The day began with a number of final round fixtures and playoff matches, with men's table tennis playing off for sixth, and men's futsal going down in their quarter-final to Curtin in a stellar match. Men's beach volleyball won their quarter-final but went down in straight sets in the semi-final. Men's basketball put on a show at the Bendant basketball stadium, winning their last pool game, and backing it up with a strong win in the semi-final to progress through to the grand final Friday afternoon. Athletics had an action packed day of finals, with UWA competing in several events throughout the day including hurdles, 800m, 200m, men's and women's 5000 and the 4x4 relay run over the afternoon. Women's ultimate remained undefeated heading into the final round of play in day four, progressing to the semi-finals against QUT in a late afternoon match. The men's ultimate team backed it up with a great round robin series listing their semi to play off for bronze. Men's badminton went down in their semi-final against Monash, and will similarly be playing off for the bronze. The lawn bowls team had a beautiful morning on the green, with some first-grade competition over the morning, progressing through to the quarter-finals. Men's water polo finished second in their pool at the end of round-robin fixtures and will play off in the semi on day five.  Our hockey teams didn't disappoint with the men going through to the final at 4pm and the women defeating Monash 2-1 in an early morning semi to progress through to the grand final at 3pm. Swimming again was on fire in the pool with several competitors winning races throughout the final day of action.  Don't forget to keep up to date with all the World Uni Sailing Championships today with UWA student Will Boulden and his team competing on the final day of action.
