The School of Indigenous Studies together with its counterparts at Murdoch, Curtin, Notre Dame and Edith Cowan Universities have organised the first combined Health Careers Festival. It will be held in the Bush Court at Murdoch University on Thursday 6 October from 10am–2pm.

The festival is aimed at the Aboriginal community in general, not just school leavers to consider careers in health but it will also be a fun day with activities for all ages.  This year, students and staff from Medicine, Podiatric Medicine, Sports Science/Exercise and Health and Dentistry will conduct hands on activities in their areas of specialisation.

Other community organisations involved include Derbarl Yerrigan Medical Service, AADS, Marr Mooditj, Headspace, Indigenous Allied Health, Yorgum, Mooditj Koort and Scitech. Dr Richard Walley will give the Welcome to Country, and Rishelle Hume, former Aboriginal Employment officer at UWA, and Dr Daniel Hunt, final year Postgraduate Dentistry student, will also give short addresses.

All welcome!
