The University of Western Australia is gearing up to welcome more than 5,000 university athletes from across the country for the flagship event on the national university sporting calendar – the Australian University Games.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Johnson said the Australian University Games provide students with an incredible opportunity to compete against some of the highest calibre athletes in the country, connect with like-minded students and represent their university on the national stage.

β€œIt has been six years since the Games have been held in Perth and we are looking forward to welcoming university athletes from the east coast, central Australia, and Tasmania to our home turf for some serious competition and great fun.”

UWA became the first University outside the big three (University of Sydney, University of Melbourne, and Monash University) to win the coveted Australian University Games title when the Games were last held in Perth back in 2010.

There will be plenty to see during the Games and we recommend visiting the UWA FanZone located at UWA Sports Park. The FanZone is open from 10am-4pm daily. Visit the website for more information.
