Unfortunately one of the large cork oaks (Quercus suber) on the Oak Lawn has had major root failure and collapsed. The tree has been identified by an arborist as a high risk due to its deteriorated state.

Campus Management will be removing the tree a soon as possible.

The oak, which is approximately 100 years old was part of the original oak plantings of Shenton House prior to the back filling and reclaim area in the late 50’s early 60’s.
