UWA alumni are coming up trumps in support of the University's Alumni Fund phone appeal that raises money for scholarships and student programs across UWA.

“We have 30 callers ranging from first years to PhD students working from our call centre at University Hall,” says Gabriella Greaves, Alumni Fund Officer who manages the student callers.

“Quite often we have students who return to complete multiple appeals because they feel strongly about the campaign and they enjoy hearing stories about their University from our graduates.”

The passionate student callers have been phoning alumni – both here and overseas – letting them know about all the ways they can get involved with the University and how their support directly helps UWA students.

“It’s been a huge achievement to reach our target so early and it’s a testament to the strength of our alumni’s connection to UWA.

“All of the money raised by our students goes directly back to current and future students at UWA, and it’s this that drives them.

“Supporting UWA students resonates with our donors – many alumni express their gratitude for their time at UWA and the opportunities it’s given them. They are more than happy to give back to the Alumni Fund,” Gabriella says.

The community’s enthusiasm for the fund has been overwhelming, and has meant that the campaign, which finishes next month, has already reached its $350,000 goal.

Our student callers have set themselves a new target of $400,000 and we will let you know how they go at the conclusion of the program in early August.
