He’s fast as a flash in the pool, and was this year awarded the water polo club bursary for his dedication and commitment to water polo here at UWA. With a busy schedule of commitments for the year, Lachlan Pethic is one to watch for 2016

Q: What are your competition plans for the rest of 2016

A: ‘I am travelling to Croatia and Montenegro during July (2nd-19th) as part of a training tour with the Australian Born 1997 Team. I may also be invited to future training camps as part of this squad’

Q: The Sporting Achievement you are most proud of?

A: I have two key highlights so far in my career. Being a part of the 2015 Uniroos team that travelled to Gwangju, Korea for the World University Games. Also, winning the 2016 National Water Polo League with the UWA Torpedoes’

Q: What is your major sporting goal for the next 5 years?

A:I hope to be selected to play for the Born 1997 Australian Team at the FINA World Youth Championships in 2017. Beyond that, I hope to push for selection in the Australian Open Men’s Team.

Q:How will the bursary aid you in achieving your long term sporting goals?

A:‘The Bursary will help me cover the costs of travelling to Europe this July for the Born 1997 Australian Men’s Team’
