UWA Sports Council Executive Committee elections took place at 3pm at the UWA Water Sports Complex, 2nd June where a quorum was met to elect the following positions.

President: the position is ultimately responsible for the proper functioning of the Sports Council Executive Committee, chairs all meetings, acts as a spokesperson for the Sports Council and to lead, enthuse and motivate the Sports Council committee. Congratulations to – Cassandra Greenwell, UWA Nedlands Football Club.

This is now Cass’ second consecutive year as Sports Council President. Cass has captained the 2015 Aus Uni Games Futsal side where she was also recognised as a Green and Gold recipient (like all Australian selection). Cass is also a 2015 Full Blue recipient for her achievements in sport at UWA.

Secretary, the position responsible for the effective administration of Sports Council – Congratulations to Caitlin Rooker, UWA Baseball & Softball Club. This is also Caitlin’s second consecutive year as Sports Council Secretary. Caitlin has had secretary experience for the UWA Baseball and Softball Club. Caitlin is also a Half Blue recipient as well as being last year’s Aus Uni Games Women’s Baseball Captain.

Treasurer, the posoition responsible for the finance of Sports Council, to the committee and members. The Treasurer is expected to liaise with the Clubs Manager to monitor the Sports Council budget– Congratulations to Elysia Burvill, UWA Hockey Club. Elysia is new to the Sports Council scene and we welcome her to her new role.
