The University Hall Pathways to Leadership program is a one-year program which supports our UniHallers as they transition into University Hall’s (UniHall) future leaders.

Residents who get involved in the Program have several benefits open to them in the form of interpersonal and professional skill training. These skills will certainly be useful in future careers after graduation.

“The program is recognised and valued within both UniHall and UWA communities as an integral part of the overall UWA residential learning experience,” says Stuart Ede Acting Deputy Principal.

The program includes a number of initiatives including mentoring, community service, a leadership retreat, a guest speaker series and student driven projects.

Bryan Quah, a second year UWA Marketing and Human Resource Management student and current UniHaller, decided to host fortnightly Pancake Thursdays as his leadership project.

Bryan wanted to do something that was inclusive to the entire Hall community. Since he’s held a pancake event at UniHall before, this project came naturally to him.

“The aim of Pancake Thursdays is to build community. To have a place where people can come down to meet people whom they haven’t met before!” says Bryan.

Two events have been held in the Upper Quad so far and both have been successful.

Pancake breakfast includes juice, tea and coffee and a variety of delicious toppings.

Thursday mornings can be a little rough, maybe you’re a little burnt out from the week, wishing it was Friday so you can start your weekend. Stop by, have a pancake, hang out with a few UniHallers and start your Thursday off right!
