The refurbishment of Hackett Hall has earned a Commendation in the City of Subiaco 2016 Heritage Conservation and Sustainable Building Awards announced last month.

Nominated in the Additions and Alterations to a Heritage Place category, the judges commended the project as a “fresh approach – a light and transparent insertion within a heritage framework that respects and reveals the key heritage fabric…that has created functional and attractive work areas… consistent with the layered history of the place.”

Campus Management coordinated the design and implementation of the project with UWA’s Centre for Education Futures and lead consultants SCHIN Architects, NS Projects and head contractor Western Projects, transforming the eastern wing of Hackett Hall into collaborative, open and vibrant spaces for teaching, learning and staff accommodation.

SCHIN Architects, a young practice founded by a UWA graduate, are also engaged by Campus Management  for the refurbishment of the Reid Library.
