Applications for John Monash and Menzies Scholarships are open and details regarding eligibility and how to apply are below.

General Sir John Monash Foundation

The General Sir John Monash Foundation offers up to twenty Scholarships per year for postgraduate study at leading overseas universities. The John Monash Scholarships recognise excellence and leadership, and celebrate one of Australia’s finest leaders: General Sir John Monash. Each year the Scholarships are awarded to outstanding Australian graduates to enable them to study for a Masters or Doctoral degree at the world’s best universities. The Scholarships support any postgraduate degree and each Scholarship is valued at AUD $65,000 per year for a maximum of three years (up to AUD $195,000).

Eligibility:

The John Monash Scholarships are not limited by age, gender, academic field of study or choice of overseas university. Applicants must be Australian citizens, have completed or nearing completion of an undergraduate degree from an Australian university, and be ready to commence their studies in the year following making their application and being selected. Menzies Foundation

There are a number of scholarships available relating to different fields of study:

The Menzies Research Scholarship in the Allied Health Sciences – is open to graduates of the health sciences who have enrolled for a PhD in an Australian University and who have completed the first stage of their doctoral program. The scholarship is valued at up to $40,000 per year for two years.

The Menzies Scholarship in Engineering – for the best and brightest engineers who are looking to do further postgraduate study overseas. To be eligible, applicants must hold a first class honours degree or a Master of Engineering with a distinction average and be planning to continue their career in Australia on completion of their study. The scholarship is valued at up to $75,000 per year.

The Menzies Scholarship in Law – is for post-graduate courses of study at UK universities, principally Oxford, Cambridge, London and Edinburgh. Applications for other UK universities will be received and treated on merit. The scholarship is valued at up to $75,000 per year.

The Sir Ninian Stephen Menzies Scholarship in International Law – is for postgraduate courses of study in international law at a prestigious overseas university. Applicants are encouraged to consider undertaking a course of study at a university in Asia. The scholarship is valued at up to $75,000 per year.
