We always love to see new faces at our Saturday morning YOGA, but last Saturday was especially exciting with one of our favourite regulars bringing down a contingent of new participants to try out the class.

Naoko Yasutake, editor of the bi monthly Japanese magazine Experth, which promotes Perth and the amazing calendar of events on offer to Japanese readers, enlisted participants from the Japanese Student society to come down and give the new class a try.

“I was determined to share this opportunity with the readers of Experth and the JAPSSOC, because it’s a great opportunity for us all to keep fit. Exercising outside always makes me feel great!’

Photographs were snapped while participants moved through their vinyasas, balances, bends and twists. After class, the students and members of JAPSSOC were interviewed for a feature article which is to be published on 20 May.

UWA Sport offers free community yoga classes every Saturday from 8-9am on Riley Oval. The class is open to everyone - students, staff, alumni and the general community can join in – so come down and see what it’s all about!
