It is my pleasure to announce that Professor Kate Wright commenced in the position of Dean of the Graduate Research School on 7 March.
Educated at University College London, Professor Wright is a geoscientist specialising in mineral physics, with a strong track record in publications, grants and research training. In her previous role at Curtin University, she was responsible for the development of policy and strategy relating to research training.
As Dean of the Graduate Research School at UWA, Professor Wright will work with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) to provide effective leadership and management of the Graduate Research School and enhance graduate research training at the University. She now chairs the Scholarships Committee and the Board of the Graduate Research School.
I welcome Professor Wright to UWA and hope you will join me in doing the same.
Robyn Owens
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research)
