With the bang of the starters gun, Inter-College and Inter-Faculty sport competitions kicked off for 2016 with the Cross Campus Run and 3x3 Basketball.

2016 kicks off with a bang for Inter-College sport

Close to 200 students descended on the campus this past Wednesday to do battle in the first ever Inter-College Cross Campus running event. Athletes traversed a 5k course across campus as the battle for the Nicholson and WICSA Cups got underway. Straight from the gun it was clear that St Catherine’s College had arrived with intent to back up a great 2015, dominating in the men’s and women’s divisions and taking home the pennant. Joe Turner (St Cat's) blitzed the course in a dazzling 16:55 while Eilidh MacMaster (also from St Cat's) was not far behind, winning the women's race in 21:42. Teams now face off in basketball, followed by Australian Rules Football. View the full calendar online .

Inter-Faculty bounces into 2016

Physical Education Student Association (PESA) and Science both got their Inter-Faculty campaigns off to the perfect start, taking out the women’s and men’s (respectively) 3x3 Basketball Inter-Faculty competition on Wednesday. Hundreds of students across the various faculties of UWA gathered for the season launch and traditional first event, which saw the two faculties take an early lead in the year-long championship. Teams now move onto the squash and then paddling eents. To get involved, contact your faculty sports rep and view the competition program online.
