The University of Western Australia is committed to the ongoing development of professional and general staff, as demonstrated through the increase to funding to the Staff Development Grants to $200,000 in 2014.

Individual professional and general staff are able apply for grants of up to $1,500 to support professional development activities (up to $3,000 for development activities that focus on laboratory skills and practice or develop employee technical skills).

These grants enable Faculties/Offices to ensure professional staff have the ability to continue their on-going professional development. Grants can be used to attend workshops, courses, conferences and other staff development activities (including tertiary or professionally prescribed study) to enhance skills and knowledge.

Applications for the first round of 2016 close Friday 18 March 2016. No late applications can be accepted.

Information on the current Professional Staff Development grants application process is available at https://www.hr.uwa.edu.au/development/grants/grants .
