SPH is proud to be congratulating E/Prof D’Arcy Holman on  being awarded the 2015 prestigious Dr Bob Elphick Medal for outstanding contributions to tobacco control.

This annual award is in memory of Dr Bob Elphick a chest physician and long term President of the Australian Council on Smoking and Health (ACOSH) and driving force in tobacco control and advocacy.

D’Arcy was presented with his award at a breakfast function by the Governor of Western Australia (and Patron of ACOSH) the Honourable Kerry Sanderson AO.  The Governor made note of D’Arcy’s enormous contribution to public health, his record as one of Australia’s leading epidemiologists and his willingness to contribute across all levels of government, to non government organisations and his commitment to advocacy all based on strong scientific evidence.

Congratulations D’Arcy very well deserved and due recognition of your sustained contribution over many years.
