Augmented and Virtual Reality in the Real World

2016 will see the widespread commercial release of multiple Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) devices.

Some UWA staff recently formed a group named AVRL to accelerate adoption of these technologies in teaching and research at UWA.

We've invited six speakers from Perth's VR & AR industry to give short presentations of their recent work and network with UWA staff.  There will also be a demonstration of an HTC Vive VR system.

This is a rare opportunity to learn from developers about what is already happening, what is coming and how UWA can engage with technologies that are potentially as revolutionary as smartphones and the internet.
