Dear colleagues,

As December begins, I would like to thank you all for your hard work, dedication and support this year. Together we have achieved so much and made real progress towards securing UWA’s future.

I’d like to remind you that our official closedown period is from 12 noon Thursday, 24 December 2015 - Wednesday, 6 January 2016.  The University will officially re-open for business on Thursday 7 January 2015.

On Thursday, 24 December 2015 all areas are required to remain open and public counters staffed until 12 noon. Clear signage should be placed on counters indicating the dates the University is closed for business. After 12 noon all staff may proceed on leave.  Staff planning to take leave on 24 December will need to submit an application for a full day’s leave.

The periods leading into and following the Christmas closedown present a great opportunity for everyone to take annual and long service leave and I strongly encourage staff to clear leave during these periods. Leave can be booked through ESS .

For safety reasons and in the interest of reducing our energy usage, please shut down PCs and turn off lighting and unnecessary equipment over the closedown period.
