In today's digital world it is no wonder that data scientists are topping the list of exciting new careers attracting big pay packets, in strong demand for their skills in managing data for the scientific, engineering and business worlds.

A recent report suggests data scientists are outpacing demand for all other types of tech professionals in the US by as much as 50%.

Put simply, data scientists help organisations manage big data challenges and guide decision makers to look at issues or problems in new ways. They organise raw data and determine what types of analysis would deliver the best results. Data scientists generally have an eclectic background but most of the skills required in this profession are computer-related.
