The University of Western Australia’s reputation as a global leader in higher education has been further reinforced with the publication on 1 October of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2015-2016 .

THE ranked UWA the 109th of the world's universities, a significant increase from last year’s rank of 157th. UWA’s regional ranking remains unchanged from last year, coming in at 7th.

THE ranks 800 tertiary education institutions world-wide using 13 performance indicators grouped into five areas: teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.

Rankings like THE help establish UWA as a leading University locally, nationally and internationally. This recognition gives the University a real advantage in an increasingly competitive higher education sector.
