It is with pleasure that I announce that Mr Ian Fitzpatrick has been appointed as General Manager of UWA Sport.

Ian has experience across a variety of sport environments including not for profit, commercial, consulting and service sectors. Ian has had experience as General Manager of Australian University Masters Games and most recently was  Chief Operating Officer of a globally focussed sports industry software provider based in the USA. Ian will commence work at UWA on 16th November.

UWA Sport Pty Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of UWA) was established on 1 July, following the dissolution of the former Sport and Recreation Association and is now positioned within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) Portfolio. The  General Manager will report to Chris Massey, Director of Student Life.

I would like to take this  opportunity to thank Chris for overseeing the transition of the Sport and Recreation Association to UWA Sport Pty Ltd and for taking on the General Manager role for the last 6 months.

Chris Massey now takes on the newly established portfolio of Student Life, which has direct responsibility for UWA Sport as well as UWA Student Accommodation.
