Dear Colleagues,

Following the introduction of New Courses in 2012, the University is conducting a Review of Courses, focussing on the four three years’ undergraduate Bachelor degrees (excluding the Bachelor of Philosophy) in the first stage of the Review.

The first stage of the Review of Courses is being conducted from 18-20 November 2015.

The Review will be conducted by a Review Panel comprising:

Chair :

Professor Grady Venville, Dean of Coursework Studies

Panel :

Professor Philippa Pattison, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education), University of Sydney

Professor David Hayward, Dean, School of Global, Urban and Social Studies and Chair, RMIT Academic Board, RMIT University

Associate Professor Peter Henry, Head of Pharmacology, Pharmacy and Anaesthesiology Unit, School of Medicine and Pharmacology

Dr Kabilan Krishnasamy, Academic Secretary

Ms Elizabeth O’Shea, Guild President

Executive Officer :

Ms Kathrin Stroud, Academic Policy Services

Interested parties are invited to make written submissions to the Review Panel, addressing any aspect of the four undergraduate new courses, but are particularly sought with regard to the following components:

  • Structure of the major (2+2+4 / 2+3+3)
  • Complementary units
  • Broadening units
  • Electives
  • Study Abroad
  • Service Learning
  • Embedded communication/ CARS online module
  • Embedded research/ CARS online module
  • Embedded Indigenous studies/ ISE online module
  • Academic Conduct Essentials/ ACE online module

Written submissions should be forwarded to the Review of Courses’ Executive Officer at [email protected] by Friday, 23rd October 2015 . All submissions will be confidential to the Review Panel.
