Mental Health Week 2015 is coming up shortly (October 4-10) with the theme of Act, Belong, Commit.

We are running a number of events on campus during the week including resilience and mindfulness workshops, a drop-in lunchtime mindfulness meditation session, free Yoga and Zumba sessions at UWA Sport to get you moving, and a seminar on sleep health, an important but often overlooked area of our wellbeing.

We are also encouraging staff to take one simple action during the week – and that is to put the number of Optum, our external Employee Assistance Provider, into their mobile phone: 1300 361 008 . The aim is to ensure that staff have the number they can all 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to hand if or when it might come in handy – be it for themselves, for a colleague, or even a family member. It’s also the number used to access the Manager Assistance Hotline.
