Armenag Nassibian, Emeritus Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at UWA (1968-1993), passed away on 29 April 2015.

Prof Nassibian was the founding father of the Microelectronics Research Group and helped build one of the strongest Electrical and Electronic Engineering departments in Australia.  The AG Nassibian Nanofabrication Facility, opened in 1994, honoured his outstanding contribution to microelectronics research.  A strong advocate of research, he fostered postgraduate research and strong PhD programmes. He recognised and promoted scholarship in many areas as well as engineering and published widely in the journals of learned societies.

The School of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

His colleagues and friends at EECE, UWA.
