  • Re-laying new carpet in Social Sciences Building (352)
  • Work is being done as part of the Lifecycle Replacement Program (in two phases)
  • Phase 1 commencing in July-September

Please be aware that work has been scheduled to re-lay new carpet in the Social Sciences Building (352). This work will be undertaken in two phases.

The first phase will commence on Wednesday 8 July through to September 2015, and will occur on the first and second levels, in the corridors and staircases.

The second phase of the scheduled work is due to be carried out from November 2015 through to February 2016, where all remaining offices and teaching spaces will have the new carpet laid.

The work has been scheduled in these time-frames to align with anticipated quieter times on campus, and to minimise disruptions to staff and students.

What action do we want you to take?
Stepping tiles will be put down by the contractor to avoid stepping on the glue while the carpet is being laid. We request that while the new carpet is being installed you use the stepping tiles to avoid stepping on glue.

Please note: water-based glue is being used to lay the carpet; however, you may experience new carpet odours once the carpet has been laid. There may be some levels of noise associated with this work, however, we don’t expect there to be high-levels of disruption.
