International social impact experts have converged at the UWA Business School for the WA Social Impact Festival 2015 .
Running from 14 May until 5 June and hosted by the UWA Centre for Social Impact, the Festival includes an exciting series of workshops, free public lectures, pitch events, forums, a lunch and more, all designed to educate and challenge thinking about how anyone can achieve social impact.
Highlights of the Festival include workshops with international adaptive leadership expert Mark Cabaj, a public lecture on the principles of responsible mining with The University of Melbourne’s Dr Sara Bice and a presentation from Michael Sheldrick, Head of Global Policy and Advocacy with the Australian-grown Global Poverty Project based in New York.
Professor Jean-Claude Usunier from HEC Lausanne will discuss the marketing of modern-day religion (is religion a brand?) and public lecture attendees can find out just what the evidence says (and doesn't say) about entrenched Indigenous disadvantage with Dr Nicholas Biddle, from the Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research.
