Professor Paul Johnson (Vice-Chancellor, UWA), on behalf of the Group of Eight (Go8), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chinese Scholarship Council which will serve to increase research connections, mobility opportunities and scholarships between Australia’s Go8 universities and many of China’s top academic institutions.

The MoU was signed last month at a formal event that welcomed delegates from the Chinese Scholarship Council (led by Secretary-General Dr Liu Jinghui), Group of Eight universities, Australia-China Council, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Department of Education and Training, and the Chinese Embassy in Australia.

Professor Johnson also signed an MoU that renewed the partnership between CSC and UWA, enabling us to continue to offer scholarship opportunities and placements to selected Chinese graduates.
